February ABCs: Circulations down across all titles
February may have had its hottest day on record this year, but it was a considerably cooler month for newspaper circulation - all markets recorded declines and no title was able to record any period-on-period (PoP) growth.
Overall, the dailies market was down -2.7% over the month. Whilst the i suffered the least with a fall in circulation of -0.8% PoP, sitting at the other end of the spectrum were the Guardian (-5.6%), the Daily Mail (-4.8%) and the Financial Times (-4.8%).
Meanwhile, the overall Sunday market saw its circulation tumble -2.0%. The Sun on Sunday, Mail on Sunday and the Sunday Express all recorded notable declines, down -2.1%, -1.6% and -3.0%, respectively.
Elsewhere, the London freebies market dropped -3.0%. Only the Metro avoided a decline, recording no PoP change.
