The top US rated children’s broadcast service, Fox Kids Network, is set to launch in the UK on October 19 as part of BSkyB’s new multi-channel package *(BSkyB Unveils New Channel). Following the termination of Fox’s talks with Flextech for the acquisition of TCC *(Flextech Cease Negotiations With Fox Over TCC), Fox Kids UK will add to the current selection of children’s channels which include, TCC, Cartoon Network, Nickleodeon and The Disney Channel.
The channel will transmit children’s programmes from 0600 to 1830 and includes UK premieres of Alien Rangers, Power Rangers Zeo, Casper, Teknoman, Bumbety Boo, and new episodes of The Tick, The X-Men, Spiderman and The Teenage Mutant Hero Turtles.
Now in it’s sixth year in the US, FCN reached approximately 30 million children with 19 hours of cartoons and live-action programmes. The channel has also received numerous Emmy awards for it’s entertainment and educational programmes.
