IFG To Launch Jack For Lads

IFG To Launch Jack For Lads

I Feel Good has confirmed that its new men’s magazine is to be called Jack and will launch on 25 April priced at £2.50.

Jack will be a biannual initially, with the autumn/winter edition due out on 25 August and will appear as a monthly title from the November issue. The magazine will adopt the A5 format made popular by the success of women’s monthly Glamour and will be edited by IFG founder James Brown.

It is thought that the magazine, previously known as Project Jack, will target men that have grown out of titles such as FHM and Loaded and will focus on work and lifestyle issues.

The launch will come as a breath of fresh air for the men’s magazine sector, which saw circulation drop by 11.2% in the latest ABC results. The majority of titles within the sector saw circulation decline, with market leader FHM bearing the brunt of the downturn (see Newsline).

IFG, which recently sold its film magazine, Hotdog, to Paragon Publishing (see IFG Sells Hotdog to Paragon), has been focusing on the development of its men’s lifestyle magazine portfolio since the appointment of Tom Gleeson as managing director (see I Feel Good Makes Bid For Viz Publishers) following the acquisition of JBP Holdings in June last year (see I Feel Good Makes Bid For Viz Publishers).
