Best Appoints New Advertising Director

Natmags has appointed Sian Roberts to the role of advertising director at the only weekly title in its magazine portfolio, Best. Roberts has been acting ad director since June last year and will take up the role with immediate effect.

Roberts has been working on Prima and Best since their Gruner + Jahr days, and joined Natmags when the company took over G+J in 2000 (see NatMags Grabs Gruner and Jahr

Best’s circulation, already in decline at the time of the Natmags takeover, managed to keep its year on year fall to just 0.2% in the July to December 2001 ABC results (see NewsLine), but nevertheless faces stiff competition in a market dominated by H Bauer’s Take a Break. Earlier this week, IPC announced that another rival in the weekly market, Now was to recieve a £5m marketing boost (see IPC Puts Up £5m For Now Marketing).
