New Look For BBC Good Homes Magazine

BBC Worldwide is revamping its BBC Good Homes magazine and is increasing its marketing investment in the title.

From next month the magazine, which reported an 8.9% decline in circulation in the latest ABC results (see

May’s issue of the magazine will include more home and lifestyle features and will sell at the promotional price of £1.50. BBC Worldwide is planning a “high level” of marketing activity to promote the relaunch and aims to drive sales with the BBC Good Homes roadshow over the next few months.

The majority of titles in the home interest sector saw circulation decrease in the ABC results for the six month period ending December 2001. IPC’s market leading title Ideal Home managed a modest 6.6% rise, while Natmags’ House Beautiful reported a 3.8% drop in sales. Overall the sector was bolstered by the launch of John Brown’s Ikea Home, which reported a circulation of 300,162.
