Trinity Mirror Relaunches Sunday People

Trinity Mirror has announced that a relaunched Sunday People will be unveiled this weekend, including a new separate sport supplement.

The two million pound relaunch will include a five-week television advertising campaign focused around football fixtures and the new sports magazine. The title will be re-named The People, but will keep its trademark red masthead, unlike the Mirror, which recently ditched its red mast-head in an attempt to re-invented itself as a “serious” newspaper (see Mirror To Undergo Brand Relaunch). The new People will adopt a different approach, according to MGN marketing director, Alisdair Luxmoore, who said: “In today’s complicated world the Sunday papers are all about escaping from life’s challenges and Sunday’s chores.”

The new sports supplement has signed up talkSPORT reporter, Mike Parry, as a contributor, the Sunday People currently sponsors a sports show on the station(see TalkSPORT Links With Sunday People).
