TalkSPORT Links With Sunday People

TalkSPORT has secured the Sunday People as the six-figure sponsor of its Saturday afternoon football feature The Inside Story.

The sponsorship, which runs for the rest of this football season, throughout the World Cup and into the next football season, will see Sunday People editor, Lee Clayton, appear on The Inside Story each week to provide analysis of the day’s sporting action.

The deal, which was brokered by talkSPORT’s sales house Impact and Zenith Media, is intended to promote the Sunday People‘s strong football focus by breaking Sunday’s sports headlines ahead of time.

Sophie Shenow, agency sales manager of Impact, said: “TalkSPORT is giving a voice to the Sunday People‘s football editorial at the right time. The combination of the paper’s journalists and talkSPORT’s interactive format provides the listeners with a unique insight into the world of football.”

Earlier in the month, rival national sports radio station TEAMtalk 252 signed a 12-month marketing deal with the Daily Star, which involves the station’s weekday morning presenter Jamie Broadbent and phone-in show presenter Bomber Harris writing regular columns for the paper (see TEAMtalk Secures Marketing Deal With Daily Star).
