Chrysalis To Promote LBC 97.3 With Outdoor Ad Campaign

Chrysalis Radio is launching a major outdoor advertising campaign to promote its recently relaunched London-based speech station, LBC 97.3 FM.

The campaign will run throughout September and will feature more than 400 48-sheet poster sites promoting the station’s flagship shows. These include the Jane Moore and John Nicolson breakfast show and the Nick Ferrari 9:00am to 12:00pm show.

The initial activity will be supported by concurrent press ads, running in London’s Evening Standard and Metro newspapers, as well as Time Out magazine. Other press-specific activity includes ads for Sandi Toksvig’s weekday show and Clive Bull’s late night programme.

The latest RAJAR listening figures for the three months to June 2003 reveal a positive performance for LBC 97.3 FM, which saw its weekly reach increase by 24.6% year on year to 517,000. LBC News 1152 AM also performed strongly with a 23% improvement during the same period to 444,000.

Chrysalis Radio Sales recently announced plans to create a dedicated brand team to offer clients integrated sales and sponsorship opportunities across its London-based speech and news stations, LBC 97.3 FM and LBC News 1152 AM.

The team, which will be managed by LBC Group head, Vicky Spencer, will work out of Chrysalis Radio’s London’s sales house and will use sector specific research to expand revenue streams into emerging advertiser markets (see Chrysalis Launches LBC Brand Team For National Clients).
