TEAMtalk Secures Marketing Deal With Daily Star

National sports radio station TEAMtalk 252 has signed a 12-month marketing deal with the Daily Star.

The deal, which begins this month to coincide with TEAMtalk’s consumer marketing campaign, will see the station’s presenters write sports-orientated columns for the Daily Star. TEAMtalk’s weekday morning presenter Jamie Broadbent will write a branded Monday morning column entitled Its Your Shout, and phone-in show presenter Bomber Harris will write a Saturday column inviting Daily Star readers to phone in to his show.

TEAMtalk is currently running a nationwide advertising campaign spanning regional press, bus-backs and online activity. The station is also hoping to target potential listeners with ambient ads on petrol pumps, in washrooms and on beer mats.

Tony Moss, the station’s marketing director, said: “The presenter columns are a major facet of the marketing schedule. As TEAMtalk 252 is a new national sports station we obviously aim to increase our share of listeners and the deal with the Star will help to achieve this by directly targeting sports fans who are potential listeners.”

TEAMtalk 252 launched in February after the TEAMtalk Media Group bought music station Atlantic 252 last October and relaunched it as a sports-based station (see TEAMtalk Buys Atlantic 252).
