Vauxhall Signs World Cup Sponsor Deal With TalkSPORT

Vauxhall vans have signed a six-figure deal to sponsor part of talkSPORT’s World Cup coverage, whereby fans are encouraged to make their own predictions about the outcome of matches in the tournament. The deal builds on the Vauxhall Fan in the Van feature which runs during the domestic season.

Vauxhall will sponsor a Fan in Japan slot, whereby fans across the country will be invited to predict the scores of each big match throughout the World Cup. Their predictions will then be discussed with Alan Brazil and Mike Parry in the No Nonsense World Cup Breakfast and in the evening World Cup 2002 panel.

Adam Roland, sponsorship controller of talkSPORT’s commercial arm, Impact, commented: “This is a solid extension of the relationship between Vauxhall vans and talkSPORT. It’s a perfect synergy between football, World Cup, time of day, radio and the Vauxhall vans consumer.”

This deal is the latest in a series of World Cup-related sponsorship deals secured by talkSPORT. In the past few months, details of deals with Rivals (see TalkSPORT Listeners To Wake Up With Rivals), Ginsters (see TalkSPORT In World Cup Deal With Ginsters) and Blue Square (see TalkSPORT Secures World Cup Sponsor) have also emerged.
