YooMedia Brings Dating To Interactive TV

Interactive television company, YooMedia, has announced a deal with Dateline to bring its dating services to digital television and mobile phones.

The interactive dating service will be available to Telewest digital viewers and can be accessed by the Sky Active service. It will launch in time for January, which according to Dateline is traditionally the biggest dating month of the year.

Andrew Fearon, COO of YooMedia, commented: “This partnership with Dateline is a strong validation of our approach to developing products for established brands, enabling them to enter a completely new marketplace through the trusted medium of TV.”

The new service will incorporate chat and interactive entertainment services. According to product manager, Richard Adams: “The enhanced interactive applications will build communities which will allow people to really get to know each other better before committing to a date.”

Earlier this year Dating Direct struck a revenue-sharing deal with Emap to provide the online versions of its New Woman and Red magazines with access to its dating database (see Dating Direct Scores Revenue Sharing Deals With Emap).
