Mediatel Limited is an independently-owned company, established in 1981, which sits at the centre of the media industry, connecting buyers and sellers.
We operate in four business areas, all within the media and advertising sectors:
Mediatel Connected is a data and analysis product used by over 90 media agencies and a number of consultancies, media owners, marketing departments, research companies, universities and libraries. We aggregate key industry data to help planning and buying decisions across all media, including a mapping product that enables you to plan any regional media activity across all media, using postcode-based demographics and analytics.
We have two products in the UK radio industry, which continues to enjoy very robust advertising revenues. Mediatel built the first automated trading system for UK media, J-ET, on behalf of the IPA and the Radio Centre in 1998 - long before programmatic and big data were industry buzzwords. Over the years J-ET has expanded to include order approval, finance system links, integrated instant messaging, copy instruction management and a mobile version of the system. There are currently over 1000 users and J-ET also integrates with a number of planning, sales, traffic and finance systems. The system provides complete transparency of trading, with full audit trails. Over 12 million spots are handled by J-ET annually.
In 2016 Mediatel and IMD created a joint venture business, Mediatel Audiotrack, to manage copy delivery across the radio industry. Working on behalf of many of the UK’s creative agencies and radio production companies, Audiotrack has been immediately recognised by its clients as providing new and greater efficiencies to the market.
With two highly regarded systems, managing trading and copy delivery, radio is continuing to prosper in today’s challenging advertising market.
In the Out of Home industry Mediatel has two products – SPACE is an industry standard database of UK OOH sites run on behalf of the IPAO and Outsmart; and the Route API enables companies to build Route data easily and quickly into their own systems. API subscribers are able to focus on the added value activities of creating their own planning interface and incorporating bespoke optimisation strategies. Clients of both include OOH media owners, specialists and suppliers.
Mediatel Events grew significantly in 2016 via a merger with Hubble Media. The joint business now runs over 20 conferences, seminars and bespoke events across a range of media and advertising themes. The business is particularly strong in TV and adtech, running two global events in London, each of which attract around 600 delegates from across the world.
Mediatel Events also has a presence at IBC in Amsterdam and dmexco in Cologne, runs two awards - the Media Research Awards and the Connies (connected technologies, advertising and research) - and further conferences for publishers.
Mediatel's highly regarded Newsline and Videonet each amplify the events and the event partners by providing authoritative and thought-provoking news and opinion to readers across the 20,000-strong Mediatel Network and beyond. Both provide further promotional opportunities too, from advertising to reports and white papers.
