The Role

We are looking for an enthusiastic Events Executive to assist in the running and production of our conferences, award ceremonies and invite-only breakfast events.

The role involves assisting with the organisation and administration of the events from conception to delivery, supporting the Events Manager.

Main Duties & Responsibilities will include:

  • Updating and maintaining Mediatel Events website and delegate data on the central Mediatel database. Ensuring that the content is up-to-date and the latest speakers are added
  • Managing all ticket enquiries and registration spreadsheets. This will include fielding enquiries from potential delegates and ensuring they have all the information necessary to book and attend the events
  • Preparing pre event documents, e.g. delegate lists, name badges and signage for the events
  • Gathering collateral for the event from both Mediatel and event partners
  • Setting up the event venues as required (this may include evenings or early mornings prior to the event)
  • Supporting the Events Manager at events - ensuring partners are looked after and their branding displayed correctly, managing the registration desk, liaising with the speakers, AV teams, caterers, and event venue staff
  • Preparing post event evaluations forms, collating results and feedback
  • Keeping the events materials in good order and ensuring stock levels of supplies are sufficient (e.g. banners, badges, pens, notepads, etc)
  • Researching new event venues, potential giveaways, suggesting new and creative event ideas to engage and enthrall customers
  • Assisting with the marketing of events where required

Key Skills

  • Some demonstrable experience of event organisation
  • Excellent organisational and time management skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communications
  • Ability to work calmly under pressure and in a team
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office in particular Word, Excel and PowerPoint
  • Working knowledge of basic HTML would be beneficial but not essential
  • Events are early starts and late finishes which require focus and plenty of energy!

Project Manager with Business Analyst Skills - Mediatel Limited

Overview

Working within the Mediatel software development team, and sharing projects and responsibilities with another BA/PM, your role spans the range of Mediatel product and service offerings. Projects are often data-centric. Our products include an ever evolving trading system and an audio delivery system both with complex user stories.

The role is client-facing (though many projects are internally driven) and includes business analysis, requirements specification, project management and account management. While some parts of the business operate along Agile lines, some others have yet to transition to these leaner processes. You will have a key role in being able to shape working practices.

The Role

  • Capture and analyse needs of (internal and external) customers, helping them to assess the impact of change and know what’s possible
  • Working with the developers, define solutions (in terms of user behaviour) which meet the needs of the customer.
  • With the Head of Development and other Project Manager, shape projects (consider priorities/phasing/agile structure/commercial constraints).
  • Manage the delivery of projects, communicating effectively with the customer
  • Coordinate and contribute to software testing.
  • Manage risk
  • Contribute to the regular review and prioritisation of incoming projects / individual bug-reports raised
  • Pitch solutions to internal and, with support, external customers
  • Be a point-of-contact for clients during initial roll-out of new solutions, during transition to our client service team
  • Share responsibility for all aspects of client accounts: producing quotes, reviewing charges, etc.
  • Respond to enquiries and allocate associated work to relevant teams within Mediatel
  • Review the service we offer; proactively make clients aware of services we can offer them.

About You

  • You’ll have 3-5 years’ project management experience working in a small-medium sized business working on a number of software development projects simultaneously, so you’ll know all about the need to prioritise!
  • You’ll have shown good results in delivering software projects through the full project life cycle
  • Your communication and facilitation skills are excellent
  • You’ll be familiar with (though not necessarily qualified in) agile project management methodologies such as Scrum
  • You will have worked alongside developers on web development projects previously (but software skills are not required)
  • You’re interested in working with data and are capable of doing so
