J-ET Junior Client Service Executive

The role

J-ET, the UK Radio industry’s Online Trading System has an excellent opportunity for a bright and enthusiastic Junior Client Service Executive to support the Client Services team on all aspects of the system.

Main duties & responsibilities

  • Day to day support of J-ET helpdesk. Ensuring that all helpdesk calls and incoming emails are acted upon in a timely manner.
  • Liaising with media and creative agencies, sales houses, media owners & broadcasters; incorporating all aspects of client servicing.
  • Support the team in maintaining J-ET databases. Assist with data checks and sending of regular client reports when needed.
  • Provide J-ET training sessions for new and existing users, usually at the client's office and tailored to their specific needs.
  • Assist in management of J-ET presentation and training documentation as needed, creating new and updating documentation where necessary.
  • You will also be involved in the testing of new product development and enhancements.

Mediatel Newsline Reporter

Reports to: Editor, Mediatel Newsline

Hours: Full-time 35 hours per week

Salary: £24 - 29k, depending on experience

Background

Mediatel Newsline is the UK media industry's most popular and well-regarded thought leadership platform, hosting a wide variety of ideas, opinions and analysis on a daily basis from seasoned journalists and business leaders.

The readership is largely senior, and we are well-known for our quality and trusted reporting.

The small in-house, editorial team is looking for a bright, fun and hardworking new reporter to break exclusive stories, profile senior industry figures, edit copy, produce features, report from industry events and assist the editor with their duties. This is a fun and rewarding role with considerable editorial freedoms.

QA Analyst / Tester

Salary: Excellent


Overview

Working within the Mediatel software development team, you will be responsible for the planning, design and execution of system testing. You will lead the development of testing processes within the business and set industry standards for testing within Mediatel.

The role

  • Analyze and understand requirements, devise a test plan to adequately cover the requirements, develop high-level test scenarios that implement the strategy, elaborate scenarios into detailed test cases.
  • Own the QA process throughout each project, including:
    • defining QA requirements
    • creation and execution of tests (manual and automated)
    • working with client support teams, who will provide additional manual testing resource when necessary
    • Monitoring/reporting of testing progress, incorporating schedule/scope changes as needed
    • Identification and management of bugs and change requests
    • Determining when and what to re-test
  • Introduce test automation
    • Write manual tests with a view to automation
    • Identify the most appropriate automation tools for our applications and processes
    • Script automated tests
  • Collaborate with the business and development teams to produce requirements that are well-documented and clear.
  • Maintain subject matter expertise for the systems under test and use that expertise to create, maintain, and extend the test case library.
  • Participate in team process improvement. Understand our development lifecycle within a business context, participate in its continuous improvement.

About you

  • Graduate level ideally with a degree in software engineering or similar
  • 5+ years’ as a QA tester with experience in testing highly complex data rich web applications, ERP and ecommerce projects as well as experience with industry standard QA tools for test case development, test execution, and defect management.
  • Strong knowledge of QA methodologies and best practice.
  • Well versed in SQL with the ability to write queries, understand database architecture and incorporate data validation/mining into test activities
  • Ability to work autonomously or collaboratively and apply problem solving, critical thinking skills
  • Enthusiastic attitude, eager to continue growing and learning
  • Excellent ability to multi-task and alter direction easily to accommodate changing priorities

PHP Developer

Salary: £35,000 - £42,000


The Role

We are looking for a developer to join our team in central London, working across our range of web products and client websites. The main focus will be on creating new features for our flagship media-data analytics web product: lots of business logic and database-centred work, but with responsibilities including front-end and non-web processes too.

We work closely as a team – sharing the successes and challenges of the work daily to ensure we are all learning from each other. The opportunity to broaden and improve your technical skill set will exist alongside a real chance to learn about the workings of the UK media industry (Mediatel are superbly positioned within this space.) The team comprises a range of expertise: not just coders, but also creatives, business and data analysts.

Systems Administrator

Reports to: Head of IT


Important to Know

Working in a very busy environment, covering a wide range of technical skills, this role will use all of your abilities and experience and build on your knowledge.

Mixture of server and network administration coupled with a large amount of internal user desktop support (at least 60% of time).

The Role

Via a busy helpdesk you will be part of a small team responsible for the support, maintenance, and development of our external client facing live product server environments and the internal IT structure, including desktop support
