The Emap title, called Sported!, has been rumoured since April *New Magazine Launches but, with the market becoming increasingly competitive, it has been kept under very close wraps.

It has now been revealed that the general sports title will be supported by a TV ad campaign, have an initial print-run of 240,000 and will cost 95p. Sales are expected to settle at around 70,000 and advertising will be handled by ad manager Karen Monro. Terry Pratt will be Sported!‘s publishing director.

The sister title for Sported! is Emap’s Match, which is currently the most successful football magazine in the sector: its latest ABC was over 160,000. Its nearest rival is IPC’s Shoot with a circulation of around 130,000. For a round-up of the football sector’s latest ABCs, subscribers should click January To June ABCs – Football Sector.
