BBC Worldwide Prepares For Teen Title Launch

BBC Worldwide is preparing to launch its Live & Kicking replacement, It’s Hot!. The launch on 16 April has been preceded with a sampling campaign which saw over 2 million preview issues distributed with the Sunday Mirror and with other BBC Worldwide titles including Top of the Pops.

The magazine, aimed at 9-13 year olds, will feature gossip from the entertainment world and as such will go up against Emap’s new launch, Sneak (see Emap Teen Titles To Aid Sneak Launch

The appearance of the magazine, priced at £1.80, on the news-stands will be supported by in-store activity in a variety of retailers. The first issue will be covermounted with an alarm clock.

The title has been put together by the former Live & Kicking editorial team, led by editor Peter Hart and Editor in Chief Jeremy Mark. Live & Kicking was axed by BBC Worldwide earlier this year (see BBC’s Live & Kicking Gives Up The Fight), after the July-December ABC results showed a year on year circulation drop of over 40% following the demise of the TV show of the same name (see NewsLine).
