Emap Secures Sponsor For Poll Winners Party

Smash Hits has secured Woolworths as the headline sponsor of the Smash Hits poll winners party in a £1 million deal.

The sponsorship will run across all of the Smash Hits brand platforms, which include; Smash Hits TV, Smash Hits online and Smash Hits magazine. Woolworths will feature on the new Smash Hits chart show, which recently launched across Emap’s Big City radio network (see Emap Launches Multi-Media Chart Show).

The high-street retail brand will also be sponsoring the Smash Hits poll winners tour across the UK and Ireland. The tour will be supported by in-store promotions, which will include the distribution of voting forms.

Emap’s director of cross media, Jane Kesley, commented: “We have been working closely with Woolworths to ensure that the partnership delivers both brand synergy and accountability. In-store activity and sales promotion ensures that Woolworths investment is working hard.”

Earlier this week Mark Ellen, head of special projects and editorial training at Emap’s consumer division, announced he was to leave the company after 16 years of service. During his time at Emap, Ellen had edited Smash Hits, Mojo, Arena and Q (see Emap Faces Fresh Blow As Ellen Quits).
